Last week, Sheffield Hospital Radio held their Annual General Meeting at The Rutland Hotel, Sheffield. It marked the start of a very exciting year ahead for the charity.

It was a good turnout for a fun-filled evening, which included a free prize draw and our Volunteer of the Year award. But, there was one thing everyone was waiting for, yes, that’s right, the exciting studio news. A long time in the making, but now, firmly on track, it’s just right around the corner.

Our Chairperson Kurt Sullivan is expecting an exciting and busy year: “Looking forward, we have so much to deliver over the next twelve months. As well as the new studio, we have so many ideas to take this charity forward.”

“I hope we can develop and continue to improve on what we already do as a patient focused charity.”

2016 marks forty years of Sheffield Hospital Radio, and there’s some things in the pipeline to make sure it’s celebrated in the right way.

“2016 is a big year, a noteworthy year in the history of this charity. We will honour it as such.”

Congratulations also to current Vice-chair and Treasurer Rich Oxley who walked away with Volunteer of the year! A huge effort, not only taking on two committee roles, but leading the way with the new studio, the award is fully deserved.

It’s a great time to be involved in Sheffield Hospital Radio. We thank everyone who turned out for the AGM in making it a great event, and look forward to a brilliant year ahead!
