We are now broadcasting ONLINE

Hospital radio in Sheffield is now available over the internet for the first time in our 48 year history. You can tune in and listen on your mobile phone, tablet or laptop. If you or your relatives want to listen at home and have Alexa smart speakers just say "Alexa, play Sheffield Hospital Radio". On some devices you may at first have to say "Alexa, enable the Sheffield Hospital Radio skill." If you are driving around and have either Apple CarPlay or Andriod Auto you can listen in your car. Just ensure you have unlimited or enough data on your data plan.

Recruitment is now open for new members

Hospital radio in Sheffield is run by a dedicated group of volunteers from all walks of life and all ages. We need people with a passion for meeting people and wanting to help inject a smile into their day. If you have some spare time we would love to speak to you about joining. There are many more jobs to do than just radio presenting. We need ward visitors collecting requests, active fundraisers, social media managers, admin and technical staff as well as producers creating content for air. We Are A Voluntary Staffed Charity

Many people think that hospital radio is just about playing a few music tracks. Over 40% of inpatients in Sheffield hospitals aren't fortunate enough to have visits from family or friends. Our volunteers may be the only people they meet in hospital who isn't there to talk about their medical condition.

Our staff are all unpaid volunteers who give thousands of their hours for free to provide this service. Each year we need to raise around £4,000. Can you help us make this happen?

New Ways To Contact Us

We have added 2 new ways that you can contact us here at the station. You can send us a text message to 07900 339 429. We are also now on WhatsApp where you can send messages on the same number. We are all volunteers so we may not be on site to respond straight away but we will reply as soon as possible.

Our New Trustee

We are proud to anounce that we have a new Trustee joining the board of Trustees. Welcome Howard Pressman a name well know in the area having worked for Radio Hallam and currently working for BBC Radio Sheffield. We can't wait to start working with Howard as he will be bringing a wealth of Radio experince to the team.

We are now LIVE on the Internet

After weeks of work in the background to build a new radio studio, equipping with new broadcasting equipment and software we are now streaming our programmes which you can hear on PCs, mobiles, tablets and smart speakers. Tune in and listen we are playing all your favourites and all day long you never know what we might play next.
