So you want to be the next Chris Evans or Zoe Ball, well we're not quite sure about that but if you want to work for your local hospital radio station then we can probably make that a reality. Sheffield Hospital Radio is a volunteer run hospital radio station based in the heart of Sheffield. Our volunteers gain a positive rewarding experience from learning new skills, meeting new friends and having fun at the same time.
Being a volunteer presenter is lots of fun you get to play great music, drink tea and chat to lots of interesting local people. We even get out and about in the summer to events and fairs around the city raising funds to keep the radio station going. A good knowledge of the local area helps as you keep our audience up to date on what's happening while they are spending some time in hospital. If you have a specialist music knowledge that is also something we are looking for to add to our programming.
There are other positions within the station that you can help out with. We can train you to schedule music with our computer playout software, learn about using social media, as well as other general office based tasks.
We are looking for individuals from all ages and backgrounds. Being a good communicator, good local knowledge, well organised, have good IT skills be willing to learn will all be a great advantage. Working for Sheffield Hospital Radio is all about getting involved in a variety of tasks and learning new skills by doing.
If you would like to talk about training at Sheffield Hospital Radio then contact us and we will get back to you.
